I craft

CUSTOM FRAMES

Every frame gets crafted in the right size, specifically catered to the personal wishes of the customer. To realize this, i go after the finest of materials. Most of the frames i buy, are made in Italy, the country with the rich history of frames. The mat, carefully selected by colour, are fully acid free. I sometimes use finely selected wood with which i craft a background or a mat. Signs will be made in style and the best glass with antireflex or UV coating brings the whole work together.

The story of

FRAME YOUR FLY

My name is André Frijlink. For over 30 years i have been working as a crafter of frames. I have a workshop for my frames in Hoogeveen, in the warehouse of an old wheatmill. The nostalgia is all around, with old beams that creak when the wind blows and the smell of freshly sawed wood. A few years back i have found a new passion, flyfishing/flytying. And now my two worlds collide! How wonderful it is to frame an extraordinary piece and hang it on the wall. A fly with an interesting story, tied by a famous pro-tyer or just because it looks pretty. Anything can and may be a reason to put a frame around it and make it a part of your interior.

The story of

MARKUS HOFFMAN

“I got a very special fly. A fly given to me by the living legend Gunnar Westrin. Tied by another legend that sadly no longer walk among us. Åke bodén. My “Åbo slända” was framed in the most fantastic way and now hangs in the best spot in my living room! Thank you André for a fantastic work worthy a very precious fly!”

The story of

ROY-TORE GJERTSEN

“Frame your fly” is not only a picture on the wall. It is something that tells about who you are as a fisherman, a fly tier and your passion for history and knowledge of nature. ‘Telephonebox’ is for me the most beautiful classic trout fly ever created. It has perhaps the weirdest name ever given a fishing fly, and it is the fly that got me interested in the history of classic trout flies.”

The story of

JOHAN PUT

“Realistically flytying is a form of art. This Praying Mantis has 60 hours of work… this is not for fishing, it deserves a place of honor! Andre has specially made showcases for this (and a big beetle, which has 100 hours of tying). In this way I can also show them perfectly at the international flyfish fairs where I go.”
